Our Story

At Bluewater Financial Planning, our goal is to work with you over your working lifetime and into retirement. We will help you along the way as your life changes and your plans and ambitions change too. We will show you what changes have to be made to stay on track.

We will worry about the technical side of things and explain everything in plain English, trying to avoid jargon where we can. We will be honest and transparent at all times.

Before setting up Bluewater Financial Planning in 2013, I worked as a financial advisor for 13 years, working for PwC, EY as well as two other smaller firms.

Throughout my career, I have continued to learn and improve in how I work with my clients. After obtaining an honours degree in Business & Legal Studies from UCD, I continued my studies; becoming a Member of the Irish Institute of Pension Managers and a Qualified Financial Adviser and a Specialist Investment Adviser. I also have a Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning, getting 1st class honours and am a Certified Financial Planner. I am a regular contributor to the Irish media on personal finance matters.

I am married with two teenage children and we live in Kilternan, Dublin. In my spare time, I like to keep fit and I am involved with my local rugby club, De La Salle Palmerston FC. I  play with the DLSP Vikings which is a team with disabled and non disabled players. I am involved with the U20s at De La Salle Palmerston, making sure the players have everything they need before their matches. I was also the Mini Youth Secretary for four seasons. I am a big Liverpool and Leinster supporter. I am also a keen BBQer.  It is not unusual for my neighbours to start getting the smell of bbq at 9am in the morning as start a 10 hour cook for dinner that evening. I am also going through my Mexican phase of cooking (as my daughter told her friends), surprising my family with Mexican recipes that I have found online.
